The Catholic Sex Coaching Process

What to Expect from Catholic Intimacy Coaching

Navigating intimacy challenges in marriage can be difficult, but you don’t have to do it alone. As a Catholic sex coach, I help couples strengthen their marital intimacy and deepen their sexual satisfaction in a faith-centered way. This page outlines the Catholic sex coaching process so you know exactly what to expect from the moment you schedule your free consultation to the completion of your coaching journey.

Step 1: Join the Waiting List

The process begins when you complete the Coaching Initial Intake form to provide me with essential background information.

Step 2: Complete the Intake Assessments

Once you’ve submitted your intake form, you will receive a series of assessments via email from info@catholicintimacy.com (please add this email to your contacts to ensure you receive them). As you complete each form, the next one will be sent automatically.

The assessments include:

If your spouse wants to participate in coaching, he or she will need to complete their own set of intake forms.

Step 3: Initial Assessment and Consultation Preparation

Once I have received your intake forms, I review them, assess your needs, and begin formulating a personalized coaching plan. This ensures that our conversation is productive and tailored to your situation. I will email or text you about having a consultation call.

Step 4: Consultation Call

I will call you for a 15-minute discussion about your coaching goals and how I can help. If it feels like my services will be a good fit, I will schedule your intake session and send you an invoice.

Step 5: The Gottman Relationship Check-Up

Once payment is received, I will enroll you in the Gottman Institute’s Relationship Check-Up. This comprehensive assessment helps us:

  • Identify communication breakdowns.

  • Pinpoint conflict patterns.

  • Highlight sexual satisfaction levels and areas for improvement.

  • Recognize high-risk situations (e.g., abuse, suicidal ideation, depression).

Once both spouses complete the assessment, I will review the findings and discuss them with you in the intake session.

Step 6: The Intake Session

Your intake session lasts 90 minutes and includes:

  • A formal introduction and explanation of confidentiality in couples coaching.

  • Clarification of what Catholic sex coaching is and isn’t.

  • A discussion about where you are currently and where you want to be.

  • A review of your initial assessments.

  • My recommendation for either 9 sessions (3 months) or 18 sessions (6 months) based on a variety of factors.

Depending on your needs, we will determine the best approach for your coaching structure. Some couples attend all sessions together, while others prefer a mix of individual and joint sessions. Additionally, some couples benefit from joining our men’s and women’s groups while also receiving personalized coaching.

Step 7: Signing the Coaching Agreement and Payment

  • If I determine we are a good fit for coaching, I will send you a coaching agreement.

  • Self-Pay Only: I do not accept insurance—clients must pay out of pocket.

  • Payment options:

    • One spouse pays for both.

    • Discount available for prepaying all sessions.

    • Monthly payment option available.

  • Sliding scale rates based on the federal poverty level may be available (taking into account your household income relative to the members of your household).

  • Discounts are available for seniors, public servants (military, first responders, and teachers), and Catholic/Orthodox clergy.

  • I only have room for a few clients at a discounted rate at a time. If a couple cannot afford my rates, I recommend that they join my coaching groups, which are significantly less expensive per session.

  • Once payment is received:

    • You will receive a link to begin scheduling your sessions (recommended to book at least six weeks in advance).

    • I will link your accounts together, allowing both spouses to schedule sessions as needed.

Step 8: Ongoing Coaching and Support

  • You will be added to a private Slack channel for continuous support between sessions. You can message me directly or use the shared channel for discussions.

  • Coaching topics are tailored to your needs, covering everything from Catholic sexual ethics to improving sexual techniques and overcoming relational difficulties.

  • Coaching is a dynamic, interactive process. I provide recommendations, but implementation and feedback from you are key to making progress.
